It’s go time. November is here and Black Friday and Cyber Monday are quickly approaching. Hopefully you already have your November campaigns in place, if not, never fear! Check out this list of campaigns you can run this month. You’re going to have your hands full this month so it’s imperative that you spend the first part of November making sure your campaigns are ready for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Here are a few other last minute tasks you’ll want to check off in the next two weeks. After that, get a head start on your December campaigns, using the below list.
01. CUSTOMER SERVICE
Check in with your support staff, make sure everyone knows their marching orders and is prepared for an influx of inquiries. What are your contingency plans for angry or disgruntled customers? What about when you’re out of stock of a flash sale item? Prepare your emergency plans and communicate them to the team.
02. LAST MINUTE WEBSITE CHECK
Make sure your site is setup to handle the influx of visitors that the holidays inevitably brings. Not sure how to go about this? Check with your website host and make sure your level of subscription can handle an influx of holiday purchases.
Be sure to also check your website speed. Nothing drives visitors away like long load times. Run a free check here and optimize.
03. CART RECOVERY AND BROWSE/SEARCH ABANDONMENT
Make sure you’ve got your cart recovery campaign turned on and you’re collecting onsite data to power browse and search abandonment campaigns. You can also use all of this data to power post Thanksgiving outreach, i.e. people who visited but didn’t make a purchase.
04. INVENTORY CHECK
Double, triple, quadruple check that your product inventory is up to snuff. Make sure you have a contingency plan for when you run out of certain products. What’s the next product you plan to push?
01. SHIPPING REMINDERS
Shipping reminders are a great way to help motivate your customers to complete those purchases. As you get closer to the holidays, be sure to let them know what options they should select in order to receive the gift in time for the holidays.
02. GIFT CARD PROMOTION TO PROCRASTINATORS
We’ve all been there. You had every intention of picking up a gift, but it’s the day before and you still haven’t gone shopping. Make sure to target your procrastinators (people who haven’t purchased with you yet) with gift card options. Bonus points if there’s a nice looking printed version of the e-gift card that the customer can download and place in an envelope.
03. BUY ONLINE & PICK UP IN-STORE
Retailers and brands with eCommerce and Brick & Mortar locations, are in a unique position to offer customers the option to buy online and pick up in-store. Make sure you are highlighting this option as it could be the lifesaver your customer is looking for. Use this message as an opportunity to highlight your most popular items, gift guides, and more.
