Bulbs.com: Excellent Email Opt-In. "Shining Example"

I came across this today, and just had to put a shout out to the team at Bulbs.com.  Excellent usage of screen real estate and nice copy to ensure sign ups.

Note three important things:

  1. Placement:  Right hand side of screen, prominently displayed, with what to expect and a solid call to action: "Sign Up Now."
  2. Hero Shot: They used a common image scrolling function to make sure that signing up for newsletters was prominently displayed, in rotation.  The screenshot here shows the site as it scrolls through the specific copy.
  3. Copy: They've done everything right here.  The verbiage gives great reasons to sign up (first to know, special discounts, etc), and the imagery shows the kinds of emails you'll get (a documented best practice).  I love how they show both the mobile and desktop images.  Very sexy.  And, again, great call to action: "Sign Up Now!"
