Facebook's Tumultuous Start to 2018 & the Changes Impacting Facebook Advertisers

Posted by Polly Flinch on Apr 16, 2018 9:24:40 AM

The first few months of 2018 haven’t been kind to Facebook. With all of the drama surrounding the platform, there has been a lot of speculation about how advertisers will be impacted. While there’s plenty that still needs to be hashed out, here’s what we know so far: for advertisers who are using first party data (Windsor Circle clients, that’s you) you’re in the clear; however, if you use 3rd party data brokers or share custom audiences between business accounts, you may need to take a look at your advertising strategy. On April 24th, we launched a native integration to Facebook allowing retailers to create Custom and Lookalike Audiences using product, purchase, customer data, along with predictive data sets, such as predicted gender and predicted next order date. We’ve been proud to stand behind the success our clients, such as NewYorkDress and RightStufAnime.com are seeing with this tool; however, we were curious how our Custom Audiences would stand up in a test against the exact same Facebook Audience.

One online retailer, working with our partner, ROI Revolution, was willing to do such a test. This retailer, whose estimated online sales in 2016 topped $15 million, worked with ROI Revolution to set up the campaign.

3 Social Campaigns for Apparel & Footwear

Posted by Polly Flinch on Aug 29, 2017 10:37:56 AM

2016, by most accounts, was a hard year for the apparel & footwear market as it struggled to harness massive growth exhibited by other retail industries. Depending on which report you look at growth was anywhere from 1 - 3%. In fact, any growth that was seen was driven mostly by the advent of athleisure clothing (items that look like they’re for the gym, but are just as well utilized for sipping mimosas at brunch) with the sports-inspired wear growing 6% above the average growth rate for the apparel industry. Footwear, driven by excitement in casual sneakers, saw a 10% growth in 2016.¹
